Nikki was in Rob’s office going over the intel that the techs were able to pull from the satellite footage Simon provided and found the same car Simon found earlier in one more abduction site and a second vehicle at the other three. She was just about to break off and send Simon an update when one of their task force members came to Rob’s door and informed them that a young lady had just been carjacked a short distance south of Savannah. Nikki quickly took all the location information and called Simon with the encrypted phone he left with her when he left Monday morning. Rob still carries the phone he found at Nikki’s when she was abducted but Simon wanted Nikki to have a line to him as well, just in case. Neither phone could be used to trace his location, but Simon knew his old coworkers had ways of hearing what they wanted to hear so it was agreed they would keep the calls to a bare minimum. Since time was a definite factor, Nikki called and relayed the location to Simon. He was only a half hour from the abduction site, but they both figured where they were taking the girl, the Port of Savannah.

Nikki was already requesting information on all of the ships in the Port and their ultimate destination ports. She purposely didn’t share the BOLO on the car they suspect the unsubs are currently using because they didn’t want anyone to spook them. Simon planned to head directly to the Port and see if he could find the vehicle himself. They all know this is a large operation but they need a thread to pull and this is their very best shot at figuring out who and what they are dealing with.

Nikki and Rob continued working the data that the techs had given them, all the while trying not to worry about Simon. An hour and half later, Simon’s email notification sounded and Nikki took her first full breath since she hung up with him. She steadied those emotions and opened his email:

“Dear Butterfly,

I found them. I secured a satellite tracker to the ship, it is heading to the Ukraine. I have attached the tracker info to the email so you can hand it off to Interpol. I had to let them load the girl onto the ship or all we would have is the abduction crew and we need the bosses. See if Interpol can wait a day before they take the ship so we can figure out who all is involved here domestically. They won’t hurt the girl because she is a valuable commodity. Ask them to disable any communication equipment on the ship before they take it so they don’t have a chance to alert anyone here or in the Ukraine. It doesn’t do us much good if we only take out half of this operation, they’ll just start up again with another crew.

Tell McShay to have the field team set up in Savannah, I am tailing the vehicle now and I will need a day to do what I do and find out who is involved. I am sure they are set up here locally. Your team can’t be involved until I have finished. Tell him to keep my phone ready.

It was so hard leaving you Nikki, but look at the difference we can make. We will find out who is behind this and we will stop them. I’m glad you decided to stay. Be safe Butterfly, I love you.

Simon”
