When we first met, it was just the Rage and I and our mission to help make the world a better place, using our own unique set of skills, and some might say, unique morals, to do so. I promised you that I would share the experience with you and I have done just that. I met the woman I love and shared it with you, I met a young man that I love like a son, and we were just blessed with the birth of our daughter.  My lady finally awoke from her coma, but, unfortunately, it wasn’t time to pop the cork yet.

Retrograde amnesia, that’s what they call it. She suffered a pretty severe head wound and when she finally came out of her coma, she had no memory of the events leading up to the injury, including the people in her life. While it feels like someone took a dull butter knife, opened my chest, and stirred up my guts with that very well used red hot poker, I understand. I read all of the information that the doctors gave me about the condition, but I don’t have to like it. The Rage is not regarded for his mastery of patience. D, on the other hand, was devastated. His family abandoned him when he was very young and he lived on the streets until he was tricked into joining the gang where we found him. Since that time, he finally allowed himself to live and eventually, to love. He opened his heart to my lady and I and we did the same with him. We are a family and we always will be. When we saw that she didn’t recognize us, it was like D was kicked all the way back to his childhood. It was time for drastic measures so I called my man and he and Special K brought me a secret weapon.

D walked into her hospital room in front of us and when he moved out of the way and she saw the little bundle of Rage wiggling around in my arms, something clicked. I leaned down and laid the baby into her outstretched arms and said,

Sweetie, this is our daughter.”  The only dry eyes in the room were the 2 little one’s that were staring at her mother. With tears still streaming down her cheeks she looked up at D and I, then back at the baby and said in a horse voice,

“She’s so beautiful, she’s really ours?” I grabbed ahold of D and nodded back down to her and said,

“Yes, she is. She’s all of ours and she needs her momma to get better.” I said, unable to wipe the silly grin off my face.

We spent the rest of the afternoon together. My lady still unable to recall anything from before the accident, including us, but she could tell that we were part of her life and she ours. After speaking with the doctor and Special K, who is a healthcare professional herself, we agreed that she and Kevin would stay here and help where they could while D and I attended to some urgent business that we couldn’t put off any longer. There is still a viable threat out there against our family and that is just plain so not happening. It is going to be a whirlwind tour and Adam and the elusive Benjamin will feel the brunt of the storm that is heading their way. Batten down the hatches boys, hurricane Rage is coming to town.
