7:30 pm
Nikki had spent the better part of the day with the evidence techs and giving her statement to the PS task force agent. They had yet to find a body belonging to the finger but they didn’t think it would be long. As usual, there were no prints or trace in the package other than the victim’s. Nikki and the tech agents went through her webcam footage and at 4:30 am they saw an arm come from the side of the frame and place the package on Nikki’s steps. The unsub knew there was a camera there and approached from the side out of frame. Nikki had already purchased and added 4 more webcams facing the house in various locations to make sure there were no more blind spots in her security.
As she was cooking her dinner on the stove, she heard Simon’s email come in. She quickly dried her hands and scooped up her phone to see what he said:
“Dear Butterfly,
I saw you had company today, what’s going on it didn’t look like a social call? Are you ok? I’m guessing the Snatcher found you from the technicians I saw around your house. Do you need me to come?
I received the following from our friend,
“Did you find my work Simon, I told you that you are not the only one with a mission? I left you another present and to show you that I am not afraid of getting caught, this email is being sent real-time. Catch you later Simon.” He signed the letter “Wrath”
The email came from Columbus, GA, the address is attached. I am sure you won’t have trouble finding the body. I’m combing through any video I could access in the area to see if I can see him or his vehicle and am still working the data.
I am not sure what I will do when we catch up to Mr. Bernard. I would love to watch you take him down, he is an arrogant little…. you can fill in that blank. I am just not sure what the rage will do when that time comes. I guess we have to see what happens between here and there but I will tell you that if he touches one hair on your beautiful head he will wish he was the serial child killer we took down because that will look like mercy compared to what I would do to him!
