Nikki had spent the last 2 days and most of the morning pouring through the Jacker files when the familiar Jaws theme sounded from her phone.
“Dear Butterfly,
I am so glad you decided to stay with the FBI, I know that is where your passion is. You are an excellent agent and the Bureau, and the rest of the country, is lucky to have you. It is somewhat surprising about their attitude toward me, but I am sure when they are closing high profile cases, it doesn’t matter. I would hope some of that attitude came from the fact that those that meet Simon truly deserved to. Regardless, I would welcome any chance to spend time with you and to be able to make a real difference while doing so is very appealing. I will help you in any way that I can…. until someone tries to use us for their own personal goals. I have worked for this corporation before and you know how that ended. Until then, what’s our first case boss?
I hope this means you will be able to join me in the “field” once in awhile. If I have to drive back and forth to Virginia to see you, how many people’s lives will be in jeopardy??? Send me what you can and I will get started. I have been perfecting the software I developed to find Bernard and I think we can probably use it to get some leads on the new case.
I miss you more each day and I hope I can get wrapped up here so I can come see you. Be safe Butterfly, I love you.

Nikki was sitting there with a smile on her face rereading the email when Rob walked by the door to her office. He stopped and studied Nikki for a few seconds and then he leaned his head in her office,
“He’s in?” Nikki looked up quickly, startled, and seeing the understanding look in Rob’s eyes,
“He’s in. I’m sending him the case file and locations now. He says he has been refining the program that allowed him to find Bernard so maybe we can get some more info on these unsubs.” Rob nodded and gave a half smile as he continued down the hall to his office.
